Time management for your wedding dinner is a MUST!

Have you ever had such experience?

At the wedding, last dish has been served, but the table was empty, desserts are not served. Time is ticking away on my watch, but I felt sorry for the couple if they haven’t start to say farewell to their guest. I continued to sit on the seat with my mobile phone, thinking about what cause the wedding to be dragged till such long.I believe that every newlywed will definitely not want this to happen at their wedding. The newlywed rushes themselves at the end of their wedding. There are hidden aspects that hidden in a wedding which seems to be easy. Which “time management’’ is one of the key points. The sharing below will allow you to prevent that from happening.

A Japanese groom once told me that when he first attended a wedding dinner in Taiwan, he was dressed in a four-piece suit and leather shoes, and arrived at the scene half an hour before, waiting. Later, after chatting with friends, I learned that the original “folk custom” wedding in Taiwan was half an hour later than the start time, and it was not uncommon to dress up so formally on every occasion. This “folk custom”, which is acquiesced by everyone, often becomes a headache for newlyweds. So … how on earth can you decide when should you start your dinner banquet? We suggested that you should just proceed by announcing the beginning of your dinner instead of waiting for all the guest to arrive.

Limited time is the key, you have to make your choice.

The time for the wedding process will vary depending on the type of wedding. The Chinese round table wedding dining time is about 90-120 minutes, and the Western buffet wedding dining time is about 60-90 minutes. Next, let me get into simple math problems. If it is a normal Chinese round table wedding, 2 sets of dresses, and 25 tables, you can arrange the event time as follows: Lets take a typical Chinese Wedding as example which the whole wedding duration will be 180min:

  • 50 minutes for your dress & hairdo change (Approximately 25 minutes per set)
  • 20 minutes for grand toast & 30 minutes for table toasting. 10 minutes buffer time (trivial time for friends to visit the room, invite to take pictures, wait for the elevator to return to the bride’s room, etc.)
  • 30 Minutes: Time for newlyweds to show their videos, portrait shoot with the new gown, and greet friends and relatives.

In the end, you would only have 50 mins remaining for you to mingle with your family and friends whom you might not seen for a long time. And do you think 50 mins is a rush? Based on our experience, 50 mins are not enough to do that. When arranging the timeline, we recommend that the newlywed must plan out “your preferred wedding style”, “wedding details that you care a lot”, and “events that must be carried out.” Set these three directions and discuss with your wedding planner. So that you can plan it step by step. Your wedding will be memorable for everyone when it has a core elements that make It delightful. So making the choice will be important, if you need to fulfill to many task but you could only perform it with half on the quality, the result will turn out to be unpleasant. It’s a first time for the newlywed, there are often many unexpected situations in the wedding. At this time, instead of being annoyed, it is better to give it to a professional wedding team to provide assistance on the spot. For example, there was a bride who suddenly needed to sew her dress before entering the venue. Seeing that it was time to enter the venue, the guests were fully seated. But she didn’t want the guests to wait hungry, nor did she want to enter the ballroom with an imperfect dress. Is this the only time for the guests to sit there and wait?

Stay flexible at any time & trust the professional team you hired.

After understanding the situation, wedding planner proposed a solution to the newlywed. First of all, the emcee told the guests to greet each other before the newlywed walk down the aisle, soothing the waiting mood, and then asked the hotel to serve another round of appetizer so the guests could slightly fill up their empty stomach.  After the dress is sewed, then we can start to inform the hotel on the opening of the dinner banquet. A series of crisis management is the value of hiring the wedding professionals. The management which seems simple will need a lot communication & calmness. Therefore, believe the professional team you hired and let the veterans to deal with the problems so that your wedding could run perfectly!
